Amazon is Changing the Ways of Package Delivery

Currently, one of Amazon’s biggest expenses are shipping costs. These costs include expenses paid for transportation and outsourcing deliveries through UPS and FedEx. In 2017 Amazon sent out an average of 3.3 billion packages worldwide, with more than half of those packages being delivered by USPS, UPS, and FedEx. The cost for Amazon to use other delivery companies increases each day as more people order from Amazon. In attempts to reduce this cost, Amazon would like to introduce its newest innovation: an instantaneous package delivery system.

Amazon now has a new delivery system that will soon be implemented in all of the company’s online orders in major cities of the United States. Amazon customers will no longer have to wait days for their packages to be delivered. Through the new delivery system, your packages will be instantly delivered to your door. Once an order is placed, your package will travel through underground tubes at supersonic speeds. Since this delivery system is new, it will only be implemented in the major cities of the United States. After a 90-day trial of the new system, Amazon will evaluate how well it operated and how popular it was among the customers. If the system succeeds with little to no issues, Amazon will then decide whether the delivery system should be implemented nation wide or continue to only be in the major cities of the United States. Amazon would like to ask its customers to provide feedback on the new system and how well it performed for them. The opinion of the customers is very important to Amazon, and will be taken into account when evaluating its performance after 90-days.
