On November 6, a fundraising event will be held for Pete Shelton, who has been undergoing treatments for Stage 3 Lung Cancer. All of the proceeds from this fundraising event will help Pete Shelton and his family with the medical expenses. This fundraising event will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Old Town at 80 Quick School Road. There will be live music, a classic car show, face painting, a corn hole tournament, a gift raffle, food, drinks, and a chance to support your local businesses in an auction. There will also be a benefit held for Carie Atkinson on November 6. This event will be held in Belvidere at the Maxwell Baptist Church at 724 Maxwell Road. Carie was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. There will be a chili supper, a silent auction, and a gospel singing. The chili supper will include a bowl of chili, tacos soup, or white chicken chili, Fritos, a drink, and a dessert for $8. The chili supper will start at 4 p.m., the silent auction will end at 6:30 p.m., and the gospel singing will begin at 7 p.m. There will also be a raffle for a 30-30 Uncle Henry Golden Boy and a .22 Uncle Henry Golden Boy. Each gun raffle ticket is $10. The first ticket chosen will get first choice between the two guns. The second chosen ticket will receive the remaining gun.
